While we're busy helping build the local food system here in Texas, there are others around the world building their own food systems and working towards Sustainability. David, of Playa Viva, is one of those and we've been sharing best practices with each other for over 4 years about Organic agriculture and how to distribute that goodness locally. This month, Greenling, in conjunction with Playa Viva, is sponsoring a contest to send YOU on an amazing getaway to experience what David's been building. About Playa Viva

You know us, we wouldn’t send you to any old 5-star resort. Playa Viva is sustainable by design. Décor and construction materials used to craft the resort were carefully selected to be local- from palapa roof material harvested right on the property, artisan plates and fixtures crafted in nearby villages, and handmade wool blankets from the hills of Michoacan, you can be sure you are experiencing eco-friendly luxury. On top of that, the whole resort is solar powered, they have an organic garden on site from which they harvest the meals served in the dining areas, AND there’s a turtle sanctuary on site. How cool is that?
Some Fine Print
- Contest will run July 1, 2011 – July 30, 2011; Winner will be announced August 15th
- **Award includes hotel stay, airport ground transportation and all meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) plus snacks and beer but not premium alcoholic beverages (wine or other bar items), nor does it include additional services such as massages or other extra activities
- Travel dates to be decided, but will be announced at least 2 months prior and fall around October 2011. Trip must be completed by December 2012
- Award is not transferable
- For an order to be eligible it must be ordered before cut-off and received on your normal delivery day with successful payment, anytime between July 1st and 29th
- Airline voucher will be for 2 round-trip flights from Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to the Zihuatenefo/Ixtapa International Airport (ZIH) in Mexico, and the winner must provide own travel to the Houston airport
