Fancy Bio:
Mason Arnold has been an Organics pioneer and serial entrepreneur since graduating from The University of Texas at Austin in 2001. With a degree in Chemical Engineering, Mason understands the science behind the benefits of Organics and the dangers of food chemicals. Greenling's customers aren't the only ones who have noticed Mason's passion for Organics. Mason has been recognized as a finalist for Technology Entrepreneur of the Year by Austin Under 40 and the BigAustin Rookie of the Year Entrepreneurship award.
Mason is not just involved in the business of Organics; he's also a longtime activist in the Organic movement. In addition to being an active member of the Texas Organic Farmer's and Gardener's Assoc. (TOFGA), Mason drafted and advocated legislation creating an Organic Advisory Board to the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) - a think-tank to promote Organic economic development in Texas. The legislation passed and will be signed into law by the governor in 2007; Mason will sit on the board and spearhead its freshman year.
Greenling was not Mason's debut in the business and green-living community. Mason cut his entrepreneurial teeth when he founded EarthAction Lawn and Landscape, an environmentally responsible lawn company. After growing the company for 2 years he sold it to start Greenling. EarthAction is still thriving today.
Committed to preserving and conserving that which is essentially Austin, Mason promotes an Organic, sustainable community. Mason believes we can achieve remarkable economic progress without sacrificing our health and the health of our environment. He believes we must better embrace sustainable living practices if we are to continue to prosper and has adopted a personal mantra for going green: "Nobody can do everything, but everybody can do something." And Mason walks-the-walk by staying active in his community and sponsoring local events for the likes of Charity Partners of Austin, DonorsChoose.org, Keep Austin Beautiful, TOFGA, Capital Area Food Bank, and numerous local school fund-raisers.
