We’re having a slippery time sourcing the organic bananas that you love, thanks to a nationwide shortage of the fruit! Our supplier told us this week that an increase in drug smuggling using banana boxes has led to a big bruise in the supply chain– apparently thousands of boxes of bananas have been seized for inspection by customs as they enter the country.
Even though supplies are limited, we are able to get some of these apeeling fruits each week. Thanks to their extended vacation with the DEA, though, most bananas are ripe by the time they reach our warehouse. Thanks very much for sticking with us through this temporary shortage – we’ll let you know as soon as our banana supply issues smoothie out!
